PRESS RELEASE 10 TH MARCH ‘LIVE’ ART INSTALLATION
WINDOW EVENT

HABITMAN

Dear Sir

I am writing a press release about the Art Installation Exhibition Event I have organised on
the 10th of March at the artisan gallery in Lucius Street Torquay. The event starts 10am until
3pm.

I have a two week dedicated Exhibition in April on the theme of Bad Habits and this is to
promote that. My art is all about trying to bring to people’s attention and awareness the
handcuffs that Bad Habits place on our lives and how they restrict us from being truly happy
and rob us of peace.

On March 10th in the window of the Gallery, shall be an elderly man surrounded by his and
everyone’s daily diet of bad habits; of TV soap, newspapers, junk food, lottery tickets,
alcohol, cigarettes, and much more, highlighting how we live but seldom now challenge or
question ourselves and our lives, which is strange. We poison our lives from our lifestyle of
bad habits. It need be this way!

The man’s wife, now dead, is a skeleton on the back of his chair, again to bring awareness
that whatever we do in life, we head the same direction. So why not break your old bad
habits of a lifetime? Why not become a better person, free from the bondage of Bad
Habits? We got ourselves into our own mess, so we can also get ourselves out of it.

Hope you will send a camera team to cover this unusual Art Installation at the gallery. My
phone number is 01803 552944. The gallery is 01803 428626. If you wish further details
please get in touch with me, David. I am happy to conduct an interview.

This is such worthwhile Art as it helps people lead a better, more productive and healthy
lifestyle.

Below is the information sent to schools about the Educational Institution in April.

I am emailing you to let you know about an Installation Piece that we will be having at the
gallery shortly by local artist David Jones. It is entitled ‘Automan – Nerve End’ and seeks to
look at a variety of ‘Bad’ Habits that we are all prone to fall into, the effects on us of those
habits and what we can do to free ourselves of them and indeed why we should seek to.

Whilst this is an installation that will have something to offer all of us David is very keen to
bring it to the attention of a younger audience and hence my email to you.

I have also attached the flyer for the Exhibition which gives the dates and times, but in
addition there will be an evening viewing on 28th April between 7.30-9pm to which all are
welcome as it will provide an opportunity to meet David and hear a fuller explanation of
each piece from him. David also plans to spend some time at the gallery during the
exhibition.

It would be helpful if you could pass this email to relevant staff and if they could let me
know if this is of interest to them and if they are likely to attend or recommend it to any of
their students. If anyone would specifically like to come and meet David, please let us know
so that we can send you out a schedule of dates and times that David will be here. David is
also more than happy to come to and talk to you and your students ahead of the exhibition
if that would be helpful.
