YOUR TIME & MIND exhibition

By David Jones

If you want success, peace and happiness in your life, you should aim as much as possible to not waste your time which in so doing,  is really wasting your life.

In order to use your time effectively and wisely and productively, it’s good to understand the workings of your mind. This is not so difficult – when you know how the Traffic Light of your mind works.

This aspect of mind, time and not wasting them is the essence of this exhibition by local Installation artist David Jones from Paignton which is currently running at Park Field Youth Community Centre where he hopes to shed light on the importance of controlling your thinking, your moods and your thoughts and not wasting your time.

David reasons that we all waste far too much time mindlessly on our mobile phones that increase stress levels and sets the mind in a spin. David hopes that it might inspire some to be more active in positive ways within the community by first learning and developing self-control and with that, lead a far more fulfilling life.

By understanding how the mind creates and judges your thoughts and from that, you will make either good or bad habits grow which in time can control a person. We either can end up being chained to a poor lifestyle or we can set ourselves free. Strong stuff, but very true. Yet armed with this simple knowledge you can move forward in life in a new direction with new rewards. Your  happiness is in your hands only when you are no longer consumed or a slave to your bad habits.

You need be aware of what you are thinking and doing in life and make sure you have a clear aim, says David. Having a clear aim is the key to success and working towards it each day. As they say: an idle mind is the devil’s workshop. Being busy in something good can make you good, adds David.

He suggests we put down our mobile phones with the endless wasted hours we spend on them and learn to do something positive instead.

Your mental energy and your TIME are the most valuable possessions you will have and should not be wasted – ever!

So if you really want to pick up happiness today, try putting down your mobile phone first!

BORN INTO WAR
The purpose of this art installation is to honour and mark the awful slaughter of all soldiers who died in WW1 and those of the Somme, to which I have wrote a poem to those soldiers and their
many mothers.

We forget that all soldiers were once innocent children and who went to war innocent young men and for those who made it back, came back traumatised.

The pram made into a tank, shows the innocence to which everyone is born, but are still born into war, and some will end up marching off to war, and we become oblivious to it all.

The human race makes many mistakes and today every baby born in the world is born into war and however remote and distant we think we are to war in the UK on this Island, we are affected
by it.

The camouflaged Pram Tank’ is a reminder and link to the past but is also ‘trying’ to be a modern day lighthouse to the world trying to send out a message that there needs to be a stop to war so
that innocent children all over the world can grow up to be innocent men, not having to go off to wa
